Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Lays Foundation Stone for New District & Sessions Court Building at Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh

May 14, 2026 : The High Court of Chhattisgarh on Thursday marked a significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure in the State with the virtual Bhoomi Poojan and foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the new District & Sessions Court Building at Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh.

The ceremony was held on 14 May 2026 at Krishi Upaj Mandi Parisar, Kondagaon, in the virtual presence of Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, who virtually performed the Bhoomi Poojan and foundation stone laying ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Justice highlighted the importance of modern judicial infrastructure in ensuring effective administration of justice and improving facilities for judicial officers, advocates, litigants and court staff. He observed that well-equipped court complexes play a vital role in enhancing accessibility, efficiency and transparency in the justice delivery system.

His Lordship further stated that such infrastructural initiatives reflect the continued commitment of the High Court of Chhattisgarh towards modernization and expansion of judicial infrastructure across the State.

The programme was also attended virtually by Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge for District Kondagaon.

Among those present at the venue were Registry Officers of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, the District Collector Kondagaon, Principal District & Sessions Judge Kondagaon, Superintendent of Police Kondagaon, judicial officers, members of the Bar, court staff and other dignitaries.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Khilawan Ram Rigri, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Kondagaon. A video presentation showcasing the proposed District & Sessions Court Building was also displayed during the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Reshma Bairagi Patel, Civil Judge Senior Division and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kondagaon, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, officers and all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in successfully conducting the programme.

The ceremony marked another important milestone in the High Court’s ongoing efforts to develop robust judicial infrastructure and promote a more efficient and citizen-centric justice delivery mechanism in Chhattisgarh.
