DLSA Secretary Payal Topno Conducts Surprise Inspection of Old Age Home and Sakhi One Stop Centre in Surajpur

May 26, 2026 : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary and Senior Civil Judge Ms. Payal Topno carried out a surprise inspection of the Sneha Sambal Old Age Home in Tilsiwan and the Sakhi One Stop Centre in Surajpur on the instructions of NALSA and the State Legal Services Authority.

The purpose of the visit was to check whether people are getting proper legal help and basic facilities at these centres.

At the old age home, Ms. Topno spoke with elderly residents about their daily life, food, health, and other problems. She informed them about their legal rights and the free legal aid available for senior citizens under the NALSA Scheme for Senior Citizens, 2016.

She also inspected the Legal Aid Clinic functioning at the old age home and checked the cleanliness, rooms, and other facilities. She discussed administrative issues with Superintendent Mrs. Payal Gupta and directed officials to solve the problems quickly.

Later, Ms. Topno visited the Sakhi One Stop Centre, where women facing difficult situations are provided shelter and support. She interacted with the women staying there and took feedback about counselling, safety, and other services being provided at the centre.

The DLSA Secretary inspected the shelter rooms, counselling room, CCTV system, and kitchen to ensure that women are staying in a safe and comfortable environment. Centre Administrator Mrs. Vinita Sinha informed her about the legal, medical, and police assistance being provided to the women.

Ms. Topno also reviewed the work of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), checked attendance registers and records, and instructed staff members to maintain records properly.

She said that women and elderly persons facing legal problems should contact the District Legal Services Authority without hesitation. She added that no victim should face delays in getting justice or help.

The inspection was attended by Mrs. Payal Gupta, Mrs. Vinita Sinha, Para Legal Volunteers Mr. Satya Narayan and Mr. Umesh Kumar, along with other staff members.
