15 More Accused Sent to NIA Custody Till June 5 in Mothabari Judicial Officers Attack Case

May 27, 2026 : A special court in Kolkata has remanded 15 more accused to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) till June 5 in connection with the attack on judicial officers in Mothabari area of Malda district.

The accused were apprehended during multiple raids carried out by the NIA in Mothabari and nearby locations late on Monday night.

During the hearing, the NIA placed two case diaries before the court. According to agency sources, the accused were identified through CCTV footage captured on the day of the incident as well as several videos that later surfaced on social media platforms.

The investigating agency has also seized 15 mobile phones from the arrested persons. The devices will now be examined as part of the ongoing probe into the attack.
