The High Court of Chhattisgarh took another significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure with the virtual inauguration of the newly constructed Additional Court Building at the Civil Court Premises, Pendra Road, District Bilaspur, on Thursday, 6 August 2026. The inauguration was performed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Justice highlighted that modern and well-equipped court infrastructure forms the backbone of an effective justice delivery system. He observed that functional and accessible court buildings create a better working environment for Judicial Officers, Advocates, Court staff and litigants, ultimately improving the efficiency and quality of judicial administration.
Justice Ramesh Sinha emphasized that continuous expansion of judicial infrastructure at the district and sub-divisional levels is essential to make justice more accessible to citizens. He noted that strengthening court facilities enables timely disposal of cases while ensuring that justice remains efficient, transparent and accessible to the public.
The Chief Justice further stated that the construction of additional court buildings reflects the Judiciary’s commitment to meeting the increasing demands of the justice delivery system. Such infrastructure projects not only improve court administration and working conditions but also reinforce public confidence in the judiciary. He reiterated the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s commitment to the modernization and expansion of judicial infrastructure across the State.
The programme was held virtually in the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge for District Bilaspur.
The event was attended by the Registrar General and officers of the High Court Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, Judicial Officers, members and office-bearers of the Bar Association, court staff and other dignitaries.
The proceedings began with a welcome address by Shri Sirajuddin Qureshi, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, who welcomed the Hon’ble Judges and distinguished guests. Following the inauguration, a presentation showcasing the newly constructed Additional Court Building at Pendra Road was screened.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Arvind Kumar, I District & Additional Sessions Judge, Pendra Road, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, officers and all stakeholders for their guidance, cooperation and support in making the event successful.
The inauguration of the Additional Court Building at Pendra Road marks another important milestone in the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to strengthen judicial infrastructure, improve court administration and ensure a more efficient, accessible and effective justice delivery system for the people of the State.
