Meeting Held in Bemetara to Ensure Successful National Lok Adalat on September 12, 2026

Bemetara: In accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Bilaspur, a meeting was held to review preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, 2026. The meeting focused on ensuring the maximum possible disposal of pending and pre-litigation cases through mutual settlement and compromise.

The meeting was chaired by Smt. Saroj Nand Das, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Bemetara. Shri Devendra Kumar, First District and Additional Sessions Judge, Smt. Sakshi Dixit, Second District and Additional Sessions Judge, and Smt. Swarnlata Om Yadav, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bemetara, were also present.

During the meeting, discussions were held with advocates dealing with arbitration, claims and insurance matters regarding pending cases. Emphasis was placed on conducting pre-sittings with the parties concerned and making sincere efforts to resolve the maximum number of cases through mutual settlement and compromise during the National Lok Adalat.

The concerned advocates were requested to establish communication with the parties in pending matters and take necessary initiatives for their speedy and amicable resolution through the Lok Adalat mechanism.

Discussions were also held with officials of banks and finance companies regarding the submission of a larger number of pre-litigation cases for consideration before the National Lok Adalat. The officials were advised to ensure timely submission and registration of cases, proper service of notices on the parties, and necessary action to facilitate settlement and compromise in a cordial environment.

The meeting particularly emphasized resolving the maximum number of cases through mutual consent and settlement so that litigants can receive speedy, accessible and amicable justice through the National Lok Adalat.

Advocates dealing with arbitration, claims and insurance matters, along with officials of banks and finance companies, attended the meeting.
