New Delhi: The three-day BRICS Chief Justices’ Forum has commenced in New Delhi, bringing together Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme Courts and senior judicial leaders from BRICS member states and partner countries.
The forum provides a platform for participating judiciaries to deliberate on contemporary challenges and developments in justice delivery, international dispute resolution, technological advancements and sustainable development. It also facilitates the exchange of judicial experiences, perspectives and best practices among senior members of the judiciary from different countries.
As part of the forum, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of judicial delegations from Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Iran and Uzbekistan.
The discussions focused on strengthening judicial cooperation and institutional ties among participating countries. The judicial leaders also exchanged views on the integration of technology to improve the efficiency and accessibility of courts, expediting judicial processes to strengthen people-to-people connections, and sharing effective legal and judicial practices adopted in different jurisdictions.
The BRICS judicial forum is aimed at promoting greater cooperation among judiciaries and creating avenues for dialogue on emerging issues affecting justice systems in an increasingly interconnected world. This initiative highlights the commitment of member states to fostering transparency and rule of law globally.
