Raipur: Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra was sworn in as the 16th Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Lok Bhavan (Chhattisgarh Mandapam), Raipur.
The oath of office was administered by Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka at a formal swearing-in ceremony attended by senior members of the State Government, judiciary and legal fraternity.
The Central Government notified Justice Mohapatra’s appointment as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court on Saturday, following the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on August 31, 2026.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Law Minister Gajendra Yadav, other State Ministers, Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Rajnish Shrivastava, Registrar General of the High Court and other judicial officers were present at the ceremony.
Justice Mohapatra’s appointment marks a significant development for the Chhattisgarh High Court, with the senior judge now taking charge of the High Court’s administration and judicial responsibilities as its 16th Chief Justice.
