September 11, 2026 : As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, a National Lok Adalat will be organized across the country on September 12, 2026. The initiative aims to reduce the number of pending cases in courts and provide affected parties with speedy, accessible and cost-effective justice.
Under the guidance of Khilawan Ram Rigri, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Kondagaon, and under the leadership of Gayatri Sai, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Kondagaon, three benches have been constituted at the District Court in Kondagaon.
At the taluka level, two benches have been constituted in Narayanpur and one bench in Keshkal. In addition, one bench each has been constituted at the Revenue Courts in Kondagaon and Narayanpur for dealing with revenue-related matters. Pending cases as well as pre-litigation matters will be taken up for settlement during the National Lok Adalat.
The National Lok Adalat aims to resolve cases that can be settled through mutual consent and compromise in a simple and speedy manner. Matters such as compoundable cases, cheque dishonour cases, bank and loan disputes, motor accident claims, family and matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, electricity and water-related cases, revenue matters and other conciliable disputes will be considered.
Settlement through the Lok Adalat can save litigants considerable time and expense while also helping them avoid prolonged court proceedings. Since disputes are resolved through mutual agreement, the process can also help preserve cordial relations between the parties.
The District Legal Services Authority, Kondagaon, has appealed to citizens whose cases are suitable for settlement through the Lok Adalat to contact the concerned court or the District Legal Services Authority offices in Kondagaon, Keshkal or Narayanpur. Citizens have been urged to make maximum use of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, 2026.
