New Delhi, October 30, 2026 — The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 30th October 2026, has approved the proposal for the appointment of six persons as Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.

The approved candidates include four advocates and two judicial officers.

Advocates:

  1. Shri Anand Shukla
  2. Shri Ratna Nidhi Pusty @ R.N. Pusty @ Ratan Pusty
  3. Shri Shashank Thakur
  4. Shri Sourabh Sharma

Judicial Officers:

  1. Shri Rajnish Shrivastava
  2. Shri Balram Prasad Verma

The Collegium’s approval marks a significant step toward strengthening the bench of the Chhattisgarh High Court. The recommendations will now proceed through the formal appointment process.

The elevation of four advocates from the Bar alongside two judicial officers reflects the Collegium’s practice of drawing judges from both streams of the legal profession. The appointments, once notified, will help address the pendency of cases and improve access to justice in the state.
