Chhattisgarh Cabinet Approves Ease of Doing Business Bill, First State to Introduce Such Legislation

July 9, 2026 : The Chhattisgarh Cabinet has approved the draft of the Ease of Doing Business Bill, marking a significant step towards creating a more investor-friendly business environment in the state. With this move, Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to introduce a dedicated law aimed at simplifying and streamlining the process of establishing trade and industrial units.

The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur. The proposed legislation seeks to make business approvals simpler, more transparent, fully digital, and time-bound, reducing delays and procedural complexities for entrepreneurs and investors.

The Bill introduces several key reforms, including provisions for deemed approvals, self-certification, third-party verification, risk-based inspections, and the removal of duplicate licensing requirements. These measures are designed to minimize unnecessary regulatory hurdles while ensuring greater efficiency and accountability in the approval process.

The state government believes that the proposed law will significantly improve the ease of doing business in Chhattisgarh, encourage fresh investments, accelerate industrial growth, and create new employment opportunities. By introducing a comprehensive legal framework for business facilitation, the government aims to strengthen investor confidence and position Chhattisgarh as a preferred destination for industrial and commercial development.
