10In a significant step to make registration and property-related services more accessible, efficient, and time-bound for the general public, the Chhattisgarh government has approved the opening of four new Sub-Registrar Offices under the provisions of the Registration Act, 1908. The new offices will be established at Bhakhara in Dhamtari district, Lavan (tehsil headquarters) in Balodabazar–Bhatapara district, and Rajkishore Nagar and Sakri in Bilaspur district.
According to official information, administrative approval has been granted for setting up a Sub-Registrar Office at Bhakhara in Dhamtari district. Similar approvals have been accorded for Lavan under the District Registrar, Balodabazar–Bhatapara, and for Rajkishore Nagar and Sakri in Bilaspur district.
With the opening of these new offices, residents of the concerned areas will no longer be required to travel to distant district headquarters for registration work. This move is expected to save time and money, reduce overcrowding at existing offices, and make the registration process simpler and more transparent. It is also likely to boost local economic activity and improve the speed and efficiency of administrative work.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the government’s objective is to ensure that public services are available to citizens at the nearest possible level. He said the approval of new Sub-Registrar Offices would provide substantial relief to people in completing registration-related work and represents another strong step towards good governance, enhancing transparency while saving citizens’ time.
Finance and Commercial Tax and Registration Minister O.P. Choudhary said that expanding citizen-centric services is a top priority for the state government. He noted that the approval of four new Sub-Registrar Offices reflects this commitment. The new offices will strengthen the registration system and ensure that people receive quality services within their own areas, making the process simpler, faster, and more transparent.
He further informed that the Registration Department has implemented ten major reforms, the benefits of which will also be available in these regions. These include auto deed generation, Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, home-based registration, automatic mutation, online encumbrance certificates, integrated cashless payment, WhatsApp-based services, DigiLocker integration, Digi-Doc services, and online search and download of registration documents using Khasra numbers.
This decision of the state government is being viewed as an important public-interest measure that will help decentralize and strengthen the registration system, making it more effective and citizen-friendly.
