Consumer Awareness Camps on E-Filing and E-Hearing Held in Mahasamund Villages

Mahasamum, January 18, 2026 : As per the directions of the State Government, the District Consumer Commission, Mahasamund organised consumer awareness camps on 16 January in the villages of Lafin Khurd and Machewa to educate the general public about the facilities of e-hearing and e-filing.

During the camps held at the respective panchayat halls, the President of the District Consumer Commission, Shri Gopal Ranjan Panigrahi, explained in detail the process of e-filing and e-hearing through the e-Jagriti portal. He also informed the participants about consumer rights and responsibilities. The Sarpanch of Lafin Khurd, Smt. Janki Sahu, and the Sarpanch of Machewa, Smt. Pramila Sanjay Dhruv, encouraged villagers to remain aware of their consumer rights in the present time.

Members of the District Consumer Commission, Shri Giri Shrivastava and Smt. T. Durga Jyoti Rao, elaborated on the definition of a consumer, the procedure for filing complaints, and the rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act. The Commission’s DMA, Yuvraj Sahu, explained the technical aspects of e-filing in simple language and demonstrated how consumers can file complaints online from their homes.

The programme was attended by Panchayat Secretary Smt. Madhuri Chauhan from Lafin Khurd, Panchayat Secretary Shri Bansi Patel from Machewa, Deputy Sarpanch Jitendra Kumar Sahu, staff members Shri Sati Menon and Dev Prasad Thakur, along with a large number of villagers.
