Delhi : Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Kumar has announced that approximately 24 lakh out of 33 lakh cases involving voter-related discrepancies and non-mapping have been resolved during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the national capital. The remaining cases are expected to be addressed within the next seven to eight days.

According to Ashok Kumar, around 1.45 crore voters were listed on Delhi’s electoral rolls during the enumeration phase of the revision exercise. Enumeration forms were distributed to these voters, of which approximately 97 lakh forms were received. The information collected through these forms was used to prepare the draft electoral roll.

The Chief Electoral Officer also highlighted that regular meetings are being conducted with political parties to review the progress of the SIR process. During these meetings, representatives of political parties are being informed about the measures taken to resolve discrepancies in voter records and cases involving non-mapping.

The ongoing revision exercise is intended to identify and address inconsistencies in electoral records and improve the accuracy of Delhi’s voter list. Resolving these cases is an important step in ensuring that electoral rolls reflect accurate voter information.

With the remaining cases expected to be resolved in the coming days, the Delhi election authorities are continuing their efforts to complete the revision process and strengthen the reliability of the electoral roll ahead of future elections.
