The Election Commission will conduct special camps at polling stations across the national capital today to assist citizens with various electoral roll-related services. The day-long exercise will provide voters an opportunity to apply for fresh inclusion of names, raise objections to proposed additions or deletions, and seek corrections or updates in existing electoral roll entries.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain available at designated polling stations throughout the day to receive applications and assist citizens with the process.
Citizens seeking new voter registration can submit Form 6, while Form 7 can be used to file objections regarding proposed inclusions or to request deletion of names from the electoral roll. Form 8 is available for correction or updating of details in an existing electoral roll entry.
Delhi CEO Clarifies Position on Documents During SIR Hearings
Amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in the national capital, Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Kumar has clarified an important aspect of the verification process.
He said that Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) can consider documents other than those specifically listed in the notice, depending on the circumstances of an individual case. Such documents may be considered during hearings on a case-to-case basis.
The special camps are aimed at making the electoral roll revision process more accessible to citizens and providing them with an opportunity to ensure that their voter details are correctly reflected in the electoral rolls.
