Fire Service Week: Hemant Soren Applauds Firefighters’ Dedication, Stresses Public Awareness

April 14, 2026 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday extended his greetings on the occasion of Fire Service Week, highlighting the critical role played by fire service personnel in safeguarding lives and property.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the Chief Minister’s Residential Office on Kanke Road in Ranchi, where Director General of Home Guards, Fire Services and Civil Defence, M.S. Bhatia, called on him and presented a commemorative badge marking the occasion.

During the interaction, Soren appreciated the efforts of the Fire Services Department and emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about fire safety. He noted that initiatives undertaken during Fire Service Week to educate citizens on preventive measures are commendable and essential.

Underscoring the courage of firefighters, the Chief Minister said that fire service personnel remain committed to duty, often risking their own lives to protect others. He added that their contribution becomes even more vital during emergencies and disasters.

Soren further stated that the state government is continuously working to strengthen infrastructure and resources associated with fire services, ensuring improved response capabilities and public safety across Jharkhand.
