April 25, 2026 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions affecting parts of Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Vidarbha today.
At the same time, the weather agency has forecast heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Thunderstorms accompanied by hail are expected in North Interior Karnataka through tomorrow.
The IMD has also indicated the likelihood of thunderstorms and lightning in several regions, including Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Marathwada, Uttarakhand, and Odisha.
Hot and humid conditions are set to prevail in parts of Bihar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Gangetic West Bengal, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, and Manipur. Additionally, warm night conditions are expected to persist over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and parts of Uttar Pradesh for the next two days.
