Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2026: Online Applications Open, Registration Deadline May 19

May 1, 2026 : The annual Kailash Manasarovar Yatra will take place from June to August this year, with the Government outlining detailed arrangements for pilgrims. A total of 20 batches will undertake the journey, each comprising 50 yatris.

Out of these, 10 batches will travel via Uttarakhand, crossing into Tibet through Lipulekh Pass, while another 10 batches will take the Sikkim route, entering through Nathu La Pass. Applicants have the flexibility to choose either one route or opt for both, indicating their preference.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the official portal kmy.gov.in is now open for online applications. The selection of yatris will be carried out through a transparent, computer-generated random process that also ensures gender balance.

The ministry emphasized that the entire process, from application submission to final selection, is fully digital and streamlined. The Yatra is being organized in coordination with the Government of China, ensuring logistical and administrative coordination across borders.

Applicants are not required to send any physical documents such as letters or faxes. Instead, all communication, queries, and feedback can be managed through the website’s built-in feedback system.

Interested individuals must complete their registration by May 19 to be considered for this year’s pilgrimage.
