Supreme Court Collegium Clears Appointment of Three Advocates as Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court

May 5, 2026 : The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of three advocates as judges of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. The decision was taken during the Collegium’s meeting held on May 4, 2026.

According to the official statement, the names cleared for elevation to the Bench are Pravindra Singh Chauhan, Rajesh Gaur, and Minderjeet Yadav.

The appointments are part of the ongoing process to strengthen judicial capacity in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which has been dealing with a substantial caseload. With these recommendations, the Collegium continues its efforts to fill vacancies and ensure the efficient functioning of the higher judiciary.

The appointments will take effect after the usual formalities, including approval by the central government and issuance of warrants of appointment.
