March 29, 2026 : A one-day workshop on investigation of NDPS cases was organized by the Raipur Police Commissionerate at the Convention Hall of Circuit House on Sunday. A total of 125 investigating officers, including gazetted officers and station house officers from both urban and rural areas, participated in the session.

Inaugurating the workshop, Police Commissioner Dr. Sanjeev Shukla emphasized that качественная investigation and robust evidence collection in NDPS cases can significantly improve conviction rates, thereby helping curb the illegal drug trade.

He stressed the need for fairness, sensitivity, and non-discriminatory conduct by police officers to ensure justice in society.

In the first session, Additional District and Sessions Judge Shailesh Sharma delivered detailed training on procedural aspects of the NDPS Act. He highlighted common investigative errors and provided guidance on how to avoid them.

Subsequently, Additional District and Sessions Judge Pankaj Sinha discussed key judicial precedents related to NDPS cases, explaining precautions that can make investigations more effective and improve the likelihood of conviction.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
