The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to introduce on-screen marking for the evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets starting with the 2026 board examinations. The move is aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring greater transparency in the evaluation process.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said the board is adopting the digital evaluation system as part of its continued efforts to streamline assessment procedures. However, Class 10 answer sheets will continue to be evaluated in the traditional physical mode for now.
In another key development, CBSE has announced that Class 10 students will have the option to appear for a second board examination from this year. The additional exam is intended for students who wish to improve their scores.
The board has also informed that it will hold a live webcast tomorrow at 11 AM to explain the guidelines for conducting examinations and the new on-screen marking system.
