April 11, 2026 : A legal awareness camp was organized at the Bank of Baroda premises in Kondagaon to spread awareness among citizens about their legal rights and the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 9. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), K. R. Rigri, and under the leadership of DLSA Secretary Gayatri Sai.
The camp aimed to educate the public about their legal rights and duties, while also informing them about the availability of free legal aid and the benefits of resolving disputes through the National Lok Adalat, which offers a speedy, affordable, and accessible mechanism for justice.
During the session, Panel Lawyer Surendra Bhatt elaborated on key topics including consumer rights, legal provisions related to banking, protection against cybercrime, and rights of women and children. He also provided detailed information on free legal aid schemes available through the District Legal Services Authority.
Citizens attending the camp were given an opportunity to present their grievances and seek legal advice. They were also informed about the procedure for availing free legal assistance through the DLSA.
Highlighting the significance of the National Lok Adalat, participants were told that disputes can be resolved amicably through mutual consent, saving both time and money. It was emphasized that banking and loan-related disputes, in particular, can be effectively settled through this forum.
Bank officials and Nyaya Mitras Ranjan Baid and Lokesh Yadav were also present during the program.
