JGLS and ADR ODR International Sign MoU to Advance Global ADR Education and Training

In a significant move to strengthen global legal education and promote alternative dispute resolution, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ADR ODR International Limited, a leading global institution in dispute resolution training and services.

The agreement, formalised at the JGU International Academy in New Delhi, marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration focused on advancing excellence in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and online dispute resolution (ODR). The partnership is designed to create meaningful opportunities for students, professionals, and stakeholders through specialised training, academic initiatives, and international engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, highlighted the importance of integrating academic learning with practical exposure. He noted that the collaboration aims to prepare future legal professionals who are equipped with both technical expertise and a strong commitment to ethical and innovative practice in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.

Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly develop and deliver programmes in civil and commercial mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution, along with emerging areas such as digital dispute resolution. The collaboration will also include conferences, workshops, competitions, and industry interaction platforms, helping bridge the gap between academic training and real-world practice.

A key focus of the partnership is aligning legal education with global standards. By combining academic expertise with industry-driven training, the initiative seeks to equip learners with internationally relevant skills. The programmes will be offered through flexible formats, including in-person, online, and hybrid modes, ensuring wider accessibility.

Pavani Sibal, Head of India at ADR ODR International Limited, emphasised that the collaboration is built on shared values of accessibility, innovation, and global cooperation. She noted that the initiative aims to promote efficient and fair dispute resolution practices while developing globally competent professionals.

The partnership also aligns with a broader vision of positioning India as a global hub for dispute resolution and legal innovation. With the rise in cross-border transactions and increasing reliance on technology-driven mechanisms, the demand for efficient ADR systems continues to grow. This collaboration is expected to contribute to capacity building and professional development in this critical sector.

The MoU establishes a long-term framework for collaboration between academia and industry, reinforcing the role of such partnerships in shaping the future of legal education and dispute resolution.
