May 16, 2026 : Hidayatullah National Law University and Mahindra University have signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen legal education, interdisciplinary research, and academic collaboration in India. The agreement was formalised during the inaugural session of the “International Arbitration Confluence” held at Mahindra University from May 1 to May 3, 2026.
The three-day confluence was jointly organised by the School of Law at Mahindra University and HNLU. The MoU was signed by HNLU Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. C. Vivekanandan and Mahindra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yajulu Medury.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vivekanandan said the collaboration would extend beyond legal studies and focus on emerging areas such as technology, governance, and public policy. He also praised Mahindra University for its rapid academic and professional growth in recent years.
Prof. Yajulu Medury expressed confidence that the partnership with one of the country’s leading National Law Universities would create new opportunities for research, faculty exchange, student learning, and institutional collaboration. He said joint conferences, academic projects, and exchange programmes would provide a strong foundation for the partnership.
Under the MoU, both institutions will work together on advanced research initiatives involving law, technology, governance, and public policy. The agreement also includes joint supervision of Ph.D. scholars and collaborative research projects aimed at enhancing academic standards and innovation in legal studies.
The partnership further provides for regular faculty and student exchange programmes, along with the joint organisation of national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions. Both universities have also committed to exploring international research collaborations and funding opportunities to address global challenges and promote innovation in interdisciplinary education.
The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to the evolving landscape of legal and interdisciplinary education in India.
