Chhattisgarh Invites Applications for Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology Courses for 2026-27 Session

May 21, 2026 : The Directorate of Village Industries (Handloom), Nava Raipur, has invited applications for admission to the three-year Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology course for the academic session 2026-27 at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Champa, and Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Bargarh (Odisha).

Admissions will be offered for the first semester as well as through lateral entry directly into the third semester. Applications have been invited only from residents of Chhattisgarh.

According to information released by the Directorate of Village Industries, IIHT Champa has 30 seats available for first semester admissions and 27 seats for third semester lateral entry. Meanwhile, IIHT Bargarh has 4 seats for first semester admissions and 1 seat for third semester admission.

For admission to the first semester, candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination with English as a subject. Applicants should be between 15 and 23 years of age as on July 16, 2026. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, the upper age limit has been relaxed to 25 years.

For lateral entry directly into the third semester, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with vocational subjects in textile discipline or those who have completed a two-year ITI course along with High School or Higher Secondary qualification are also eligible.

For lateral entry admissions, the age limit is 17 to 25 years as on July 16, 2026, while SC and ST candidates are eligible up to 27 years of age.

Application forms can be downloaded from the official website iihtchampa.org.in. Interested and eligible candidates must submit their duly filled and self-attested application forms via email to iihtchampacg@gmail.com by 5 PM on June 10, 2026.
