Chhattisgarh Government Committed to Strengthening Ayurveda Healthcare System: MLA Rohit Sahu

May 28, 2026 : A grand provincial representatives’ conference of the Chhattisgarh Ayurveda Officers Association was organised in Raipur, bringing together Ayurveda medical officers and association representatives from across the state. Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal attended the event as the chief guest.

The programme was also attended by Rohit Sahu, Purandar Mishra and Indrakumar Sahu. During the conference, detailed discussions were held between the guests and office-bearers of the association on strengthening, modernising and expanding the Ayurveda healthcare system across the state.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Rohit Sahu highlighted the significance of Ayurveda, describing it as one of the world’s oldest systems of medicine. He said Ayurveda is not merely a method of treatment but a deeply rooted way of life that forms an integral part of Indian culture and tradition. He noted that the ancient knowledge preserved by generations is now gaining recognition at the global level.

Sahu said the relevance of Ayurveda has been steadily increasing in modern times and added that the Chhattisgarh government remains committed to ensuring the benefits of this traditional healthcare system reach every section of society, especially people in remote and rural areas.

He also praised the work of Ayurveda medical officers serving in his home district of Gariaband, saying that despite limited resources, they are rendering significant public service in difficult and remote regions. He stressed the need to encourage and support such healthcare professionals for their contribution to society.
