Chhattisgarh Advocate General Office Invites Applications for Stenographer and Assistant Grade-III Posts, Last Date June 6

The Office of the Advocate General, Chhattisgarh, has issued a recruitment notification inviting applications for various vacancies, including Stenographer (English) and Assistant Grade-III posts. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through registered post, speed post, or courier to the Advocate General Office located in the High Court premises, Bodri, Bilaspur. The last date for submission of applications is June 6, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

According to the notification issued on May 18, 2026, a total of 11 vacancies have been announced for the post of English Stenographer and 28 vacancies for Assistant Grade-III. The recruitment will be conducted through direct selection. Candidates must possess a valid registration with the Chhattisgarh Employment Office.

For the English Stenographer post, applicants must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent and should possess a recognized English shorthand certificate with a speed of 100 words per minute. Candidates must also hold a one-year diploma or certificate in Data Entry Operator/Programming and demonstrate a data entry speed of 10,000 key depressions per hour. Preference will be given to candidates proficient in both Hindi and English shorthand.

Applicants for Assistant Grade-III must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent and possess a recognized one-year diploma or certificate in Data Entry Operator/Programming. They must also have certification demonstrating typing proficiency of 5,000 key depressions per hour in Hindi or English through computer software.

The age limit has been fixed between 18 and 35 years as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxations will be available to eligible reserved category candidates, women residents of Chhattisgarh, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, contractual employees, and other categories in accordance with state government rules. The maximum age after applying all relaxations shall not exceed 45 years.

The selection process will consist of a written examination carrying 100 marks followed by a skill test carrying 50 marks. The written examination will include objective-type questions covering General Studies, Chhattisgarh General Knowledge, Computer Knowledge, General Mental Ability, Mathematics, Hindi, and English. There will be no negative marking.

Candidates shortlisted from the written examination will be called for typing and skill tests. For Assistant Grade-III, candidates will be assessed through Hindi and English computer typing tests. For English Stenographer, candidates will undergo shorthand dictation and English typing tests. Merit lists will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the skill test stage.
