IIT Bhilai and École Centrale de Nantes Sign MoU to Advance Global Academic Collaboration

June 16, 2026 : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai has taken a significant step toward strengthening international academic cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with École Centrale de Nantes, one of France’s leading engineering and research institutions. The agreement was formalized during the “Bharat Innovates: Global Acceleration for Indian Education Ecosystem” event held in Nice, France, from June 14 to 16, 2026.

The MoU aims to enhance academic, research, professional, and cultural collaboration between the two institutions. It establishes a comprehensive framework to promote faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and a range of international academic activities.

Under the agreement, IIT Bhilai and École Centrale de Nantes will encourage faculty exchange programs, student mobility initiatives, collaborative research projects, and participation in multinational and multi-institutional academic endeavors. The partnership will also support joint seminars, conferences, and academic meetings, fostering knowledge-sharing and innovation across disciplines.

In addition, both institutions will explore opportunities for exchanging academic resources and educational materials, organizing specialized short-term academic programs, summer research initiatives, and study-abroad opportunities. The collaboration also opens avenues for the development of joint and dual-degree programs in the future.

This partnership marks an important milestone in strengthening global cooperation in higher education, research, and innovation.
