Bilaspur, September 10, 2026: Senior judicial officer Santosh Sharma today took oath as a Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur, formally beginning his tenure on the High Court Bench.
Sharma was among the judicial officers appointed to the Chhattisgarh High Court and was administered the oath during a ceremony held at the High Court in Bilaspur.
His elevation marks the culmination of more than 17 years of service in the judiciary. Sharma joined the judicial service on March 19, 2009, and has held several important judicial and administrative positions across Chhattisgarh.
According to his judicial profile, he has served at Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Dantewada, Baloda-Bazar, Raipur, Surajpur and Korba. He also served as Registrar (S&A) and Registrar (Vigilance), High Court of Chhattisgarh, before being posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge, Korba, in May 2025.
Sharma holds degrees in B.Sc., M.Sc. (Zoology), LL.B. and M.A. (Sociology).
Following today’s oath-taking, Santosh Sharma is now a sitting Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh,Sharma’s career reflects extensive experience in both trial-court adjudication and High Court administration. His postings in different districts, along with his assignments as Registrar, have with the High Court functioning from its principal seat at Bilaspur.
