Bhopal Court Sends Twisha Sharma’s Husband Samarth Singh to Seven-Day Police Custody in Dowry Harassment Case

May 23, 2026 : A court in Bhopal has sent Samarth Singh, husband of late actress Twisha Sharma, to seven days of police custody in connection with an alleged dowry harassment case. Singh was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class Anudita Gupta after being brought to Bhopal in the early hours of Sunday. During the hearing, his lawyer submitted his passport before the court.

Samarth Singh was arrested on Saturday after he arrived at the Jabalpur district court premises to surrender before authorities.

Meanwhile, a four-member medical team from AIIMS Delhi is expected to reach Bhopal to conduct a second autopsy on Twisha Sharma, following directions issued by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her matrimonial home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal on May 12. Following her death, an FIR was registered against her husband Samarth Singh and her mother-in-law over allegations of dowry-related harassment.
