A state-level meeting on the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Chhattisgarh will be held in Raipur on Friday in the presence of the high-level committee constituted by the state government.
Around 200 participants from different sections of society have been invited to take part in detailed deliberations on the proposed implementation of the UCC. The invitees include office-bearers of various commissions, corporations, boards and development authorities, representatives of social organisations, community leaders, eminent citizens, public representatives and subject experts.
During the meeting, participants are expected to discuss various provisions of the Uniform Civil Code, along with its potential social impact and practical aspects of implementation in the state.
The consultation is expected to provide stakeholders an opportunity to present their views and suggestions before the high-level committee as the Chhattisgarh government examines issues related to the implementation of a uniform civil framework.
