ED Conducts Searches Across Tamil Nadu in Teacher Recruitment Exam Manipulation Case

June 23, 2026 : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted searches at 18 locations across Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, and Madurai in connection with the alleged Teacher Recruitment Exam manipulation case in Tamil Nadu.

According to the ED, the searches are being carried out based on a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in 2017. The agency stated that the investigation pertains to alleged irregularities and manipulation in the teacher recruitment examination process.

The ED further noted that the police completed their investigation and filed a chargesheet in the case in 2021. The ongoing searches are part of the agency’s probe into the financial aspects and alleged proceeds of crime linked to the examination scam.
