Bilaspur : The High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur has issued an official notice announcing a significant upgrade to the eCourts Services Mobile App, with Version 4.0 set to go live on May 5, 2026. The upgrade, directed by the eCommittee of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, marks a transition from the legacy Cordova hybrid framework to React Native (v0.77.0), aimed at improving performance, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
As detailed in the notice dated May 1, 2026, the upgraded application introduces several technological and functional enhancements. The app will now support Android 14 (API level 34), ensuring compatibility with the latest devices available on the Google Play Store. Performance improvements include faster load times, smoother animations, and optimized resource management through a native rendering engine.
The user interface has also been redesigned with a minimalist layout and bottom-tab navigation to facilitate easier one-handed use. Among the key functional upgrades, users will now be able to directly access order PDFs through clickable links in the “Case Status” section. A new case conversion tracking feature allows users to view both old and new case numbers for converted matters.
Additionally, the “My Cases” section has been optimized with pagination to address previous responsiveness issues. The app also integrates unified quick links consolidating services such as ePay, NJDG, and eFiling into a single interface. Integration with BHUVAN maps has been introduced to assist users in locating court complexes.
Importantly, the notice makes it mandatory for all users to back up their existing data before the transition. Users are advised to use the “Export” feature within the current app version to safeguard their saved case data. Stakeholders have been given a deadline until May 4, 2026, to complete the backup process to avoid any data loss during migration to the new storage architecture.
The notice has been issued under the authority of the Registrar General, Rajnish Shrivastava, by order of the Hon’ble Chief Justice.
