New Delhi: Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant has announced the launch of a Monthly Lecture Series on Law, Justice and Legal Education by the Supreme Court. The announcement was made on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
The initiative is aimed at creating a regular forum for dialogue, discussion and exchange of ideas on significant contemporary issues relating to law, justice and society.
Built around the theme “One important idea. Every month.”, the lecture series will bring together members of the Bench and Bar, academics, eminent experts and young legal professionals. The platform will facilitate informed discussions on issues that are important not only to the legal system but also to society as a whole.
The initiative is envisaged as a continuing intellectual platform of the Supreme Court, encouraging engagement between different sections of the legal and academic community. Each edition of the series will focus on a contemporary and significant subject having wider relevance to law, justice and public life.
Chief Justice Surya Kant will guide the selection of themes, speakers and the overall format of the lecture series. The initiative is expected to provide an institutional platform for sharing knowledge, encouraging legal scholarship and fostering meaningful conversations on the evolving challenges before the justice system.
