May 11, 2026 : The Supreme Court on Monday launched the ‘One Case, One Data’ system, a major digital initiative aimed at improving judicial case management through integrated access to case-related data across courts and government departments nationwide.
Launching the platform, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant stated that the new system would enable seamless integration of judicial records and case data among the Supreme Court, High Courts, district courts and Taluka courts through a unified digital framework.
Describing the initiative as a significant step towards judicial transparency and modernisation, the CJI said the platform establishes a multi-level digital integration mechanism connecting court databases at every level of the justice delivery system.
He noted that the system would allow the Supreme Court to access complete case-related information originating from subordinate courts, while lower courts and relevant government departments would also benefit from reciprocal connectivity and data access.
According to the CJI, the module would automate retrieval of judicial records from different court databases and facilitate real-time online verification of case-related information. The integrated framework is expected to improve data integrity, enhance accuracy in judicial records, reduce procedural delays and strengthen transparency across the judicial ecosystem.
Alongside the integrated data platform, the Supreme Court also launched ‘Su-Sahay’, an AI-powered chatbot developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in collaboration with the Supreme Court Registry.
The chatbot is designed to assist litigants, lawyers, citizens and other stakeholders in accessing case-related information and navigating e-services available on the Supreme Court website. The Court stated that ‘Su-Sahay’ would provide a simplified and user-friendly mechanism for obtaining prompt guidance regarding judicial services, case status and digital court procedures.
The initiative forms part of the broader judicial digitisation and e-governance efforts being implemented within India’s justice delivery system. Acknowledging the role of Registry officials and technical teams involved in developing the infrastructure, the CJI expressed confidence that the new digital initiatives would significantly benefit litigants, lawyers, judges and the overall judicial administration system.
