  • SCBA, in Collaboration with BBA, Announces Three-Day Advocacy Training Programme for Young Lawyers at Supreme Court

    February 10, 2026 : The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has announced a three-day Advocacy Training Programme in collaboration with the Bombay Bar Association (BBA), aimed at strengthening practical courtroom skills of young advocates practicing before the Supreme Court of India.

    As per the circular dated 9 February 2026, the programme will be conducted from 13 to 15 March 2026 at the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. The initiative is designed to enhance professional skills in trial advocacy under the guidance of senior members of the Bar.

    Focus on Practical Courtroom Skills

    The training is specifically tailored for advocates with 0 to 5 years of practice. Unlike conventional lecture-based formats, the programme emphasises hands-on learning and simulated courtroom exercises.

    Sessions will be conducted by trained and experienced faculty members of the Bombay Bar Association, along with international trainers from Malaysia. The curriculum will focus on:

    • Case analysis and preparation
    • Examination-in-Chief
    • Cross-Examination of witnesses
    • Techniques for effective oral arguments

    Participants will actively conduct examination-in-chief, cross-examination, and oral arguments in a structured environment. The programme also provides individual and personalised guidance, enabling participants to receive focused feedback on their advocacy skills.

    Schedule and Format

    The schedule is as follows:

    • 13 March 2026: 4:15 PM to 6:30 PM (Inaugural Session)
    • 14 March 2026: 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Session I)
    • 15 March 2026: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Session II)

    Attendance is mandatory on all days.

    Eligibility and Participation

    Eligibility is restricted to advocates who have obtained their Sanad between 2020 and 2025. The programme is limited to 60 participants, reflecting its emphasis on intensive and personalised training.

    Selected participants will be required to submit a refundable deposit of ₹2,500. Course material will be provided in advance to facilitate preparation.

    Registration Process

    Interested members may collect the registration form from the SCBA Office or download it from the official website (scbaindia.org). The duly filled form must be submitted to the SCBA Office on or before 25 February 2026. Selected participants will be contacted by the SCBA Office.

    The programme is being organised under the leadership of Mr. Vikas Singh, Senior Advocate and President, SCBA, along with Mr. Rahul Kaushik, Senior Advocate and Vice-President, and Ms. Pragya Baghel, Honorary Secretary, among other members of the Executive Committee.

    With structured advocacy drills, limited seats, and faculty drawn from both domestic and international practice, the initiative reflects a focused effort to strengthen foundational courtroom skills among the next generation of Supreme Court practitioners.
