CBI Raids Punjab Vigilance Bureau Office in Mohali Over Alleged Bribery Case

May 12, 2026 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a late-night raid at the Punjab Vigilance Bureau office in Mohali in connection with an alleged bribery case involving the exchange of lakhs of rupees.

The operation was carried out by a Chandigarh-based CBI team under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. As part of the probe, the agency also conducted searches at a residence in Malout town of Punjab’s Muktsar district.

Sources said that several persons have been arrested in connection with the case, while investigations are currently underway to determine the extent of the alleged corruption network.

Meanwhile, according to official sources quoted by the Jalandhar correspondent, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has confirmed that one individual has been apprehended by the CBI in the matter.

The Vigilance Bureau stated that it would fully cooperate with the investigation and assured that strict action would be taken if the involvement of any official emerges during the probe.
