Supreme Court Seeks Centre, NMC Response on NEET-PG 2026 Answer Key Transparency

Supreme Court of India

The Supreme Court has sought responses from the Centre and the National Medical Commission (NMC) on a petition seeking greater transparency in the answer key and response-disclosure process for NEET-PG 2026.

A bench comprising Justices P. S. Narasimha and Alok Aradhe issued notices to the authorities and tagged the petition with other pending pleas on the issue.

The petitioners have sought access to the questions and answer options displayed to individual candidates, their recorded responses, and the correct answers. They have argued that the existing system does not enable candidates to independently verify how their responses have been evaluated, raising concerns about transparency in the examination process.

NEET-PG 2026 was conducted on August 30. A supplementary examination was held on September 5 for candidates affected by a technical disruption at an examination centre in Jaipur.

The matter will be considered along with the pending petitions concerning transparency in the NEET-PG examination process.
