July 9, 2026 : The Supreme Court has extended the deadline for referring pending cases to the Samadhan Samaroh (Special Lok Adalat 2026), an initiative aimed at making justice more accessible, affordable, and settlement-oriented. Parties interested in referring eligible pending matters before the Supreme Court can now submit the online Google Form until July 31, 2026.
The Samadhan Samaroh commenced on April 21, 2026, and will culminate in the Special Lok Adalat to be held on August 21, 22, and 23, 2026, at the Supreme Court premises. The Special Lok Adalat will take up only those cases pending before the Supreme Court that are capable of being resolved through mutual consent, conciliation, or mediation.
Ahead of the Special Lok Adalat, mediation and conciliation sessions are being conducted at the mediation centres of State, District, Taluk, and High Court Legal Services Authorities across the country. Trained mediators and officials of the Legal Services Authorities are assisting litigants in reaching amicable settlements. Parties may participate in these proceedings either in person or through online mode.
The Special Lok Adalat will consider a wide range of disputes that are amenable to settlement, including banking disputes, civil matters, motor accident compensation claims, compensation cases, matters under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, family disputes, labour and industrial disputes, land acquisition cases, property tax disputes, service matters, tenancy and eviction disputes, direct and indirect tax cases, and other matters that can be resolved through mutual agreement.
The District Legal Services Authority has appealed to advocates, litigants, and all concerned parties to actively participate in the initiative and have their eligible cases referred to the Special Lok Adalat for speedy, effective, and amicable resolution. An online Google Form has been made available for this purpose, allowing interested parties to submit their applications through a simple and convenient process.
