Delhi High Court Constitutes Fast Track Court for Cases Under Public Examinations Act, 2024

July 24, 2026 : The Delhi High Court has constituted a dedicated Fast Track Court with immediate effect for the speedy trial of cases registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The move is intended to ensure the expeditious disposal of cases involving examination paper leaks, cheating, and other unfair practices in public examinations.

According to a notification issued by the High Court, the court of Anu Grover Baliga at the Rouse Avenue Courts has been designated as the Special Fast Track Court to hear offences under the Public Examinations Act, along with all connected criminal cases.

Justice Anu Grover Baliga, who was previously serving as the Judge In-charge of the Mediation Centre at Tis Hazari Courts, has been transferred to the Rouse Avenue Courts to function as the Special Judge for these matters.

The notification was issued just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Centre’s decision to establish fast-track courts across the country to ensure swift investigation, trial, and stringent punishment for those involved in examination paper leak cases. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen the integrity and transparency of public recruitment and competitive examinations.

The establishment of the dedicated court is expected to facilitate quicker adjudication of offences under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, reinforcing the legal framework aimed at curbing examination-related malpractices.
