May 4, 2026 : The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) is set for a decisive victory in Kerala, with results and trends now available for all 140 assembly seats. Early leads have consolidated through the counting process, placing the UDF firmly ahead of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
The Congress has secured 10 seats and is leading in 50 more. Its ally, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), has won 2 seats and is ahead in 21 constituencies. On the other side, the CPI(M) has won 5 seats and is leading in 23, while its ally CPI is ahead in 9 seats. Kerala Congress is leading in 7 constituencies.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is maintaining a strong lead in Dharmadam by over 11,000 votes. Meanwhile, former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar is leading in Nemom, narrowly ahead of state minister V Sivankutty.
In Kanjirappally, Union Minister George Kurian is trailing behind Congress candidate Rony K. Baby and Kerala Congress (M) leader Dr. N. Jayaraj. BJP leader Shobha Surendran is also behind in Palakkad, where Congress candidate Ramesh Pisharody is in front.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunny Joseph is leading in Peravoor against former health minister K K Shailaja. In Thrissur, Congress candidate Rajan J. Pallan has won, defeating CPI(M)’s Alankode Leelakrishnan and BJP’s Padmaja Venugopal.
Congress leader Chandy Oommen has retained Puthuppally, while senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has won Haripad by a margin of 23,337 votes. CPI(M)’s T.M. Sasi has secured Alathur with a margin of 8,553 votes.
Former BJP state president K Surendran is trailing in Manjeshwar against A.K.M. Ashraf. In Paravur, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan is ahead.
In Ambalappuzha, former minister G Sudhakaran, contesting as an Independent backed by the UDF, is leading by over 20,000 votes. In Kazhakkottam, BJP leader V Muraleedharan is closely trailing CPI(M)’s Kadakampalli Surendran, who holds a slim lead of under 1,000 votes.
