Assembly Election Results 2026: Vote Counting to Begin Tomorrow Across Five States and Puducherry

May 3, 2026 : Counting of votes for the recently held Assembly elections in West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and the Union Territory of Puducherry will commence tomorrow morning amid tight security and elaborate administrative arrangements.

In Assam, authorities have finalized preparations for counting across all 126 Assembly constituencies. The process will be conducted at 40 counting centres spread across 35 districts under strict security protocols. A total of 722 candidates, including 59 women, are in the fray. The state recorded a voter turnout of 85.96 percent during polling held on April 9.

In West Bengal, officials confirmed that 77 counting centres have been set up statewide, with multi-layered security measures to ensure a transparent and smooth counting process.

Tamil Nadu has deployed 10,545 counting personnel, supported by 4,624 micro-observers. Additionally, 234 counting observers, one for each Assembly constituency, will supervise the proceedings to ensure compliance with guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.

In Puducherry, Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar stated that comprehensive arrangements, including stringent security and monitoring systems, have been put in place. The counting will be conducted under the direct supervision of Election Commission-appointed observers to maintain transparency.

Similarly, in Kerala, all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure the smooth and secure counting of votes.

With results set to unfold, the electoral fate of thousands of candidates across these regions will be decided, marking a crucial moment in the political landscape of the country.
